Robots among us...

Here we have a pic of a Fabricator (Fab) that a friend of mine, Pete, built.
It's an amazing bit of machinery that can move a point in 3d space anywhere within 3 dimensions. Many fascinating possible applications as you can imagine.

Maybe let it paint with a brush under computer control. Who knows ... Cyber Grand Master?

Welcome to Lusitoland 2008

Lusitoland is an annual Portuguese festival in South Africa, proceeds of which go to the Lusitoland centre for the handicapped. Much to do, eat and see.

The cutest dog in the world: Canine Boxer Candy

I had never imagined what incredible connection one can have, most people can have, with a boxer canine. First came Sheena, a beautiful box pup... prancing with those long, awkward legs towards me one day out of nowhere, she offered an incredible connection with our family. When Sheena's time passed, my sister and husband got a puppy boxer in lieu of the incredible being Sheena had been throughout her life. Candy, the new arrival, would ultimately change our lives forever... http://cutestboxerdogs.blogspot.com/

Candy has a new ball: this little red spongy device offers hours of amusement to her, and every minute of that is adorable to witness. Such grace, blended with an amused playful attitude towards life. So cute, yet at the same time a serious physical challenger for the burglars in the area. A brilliant description of true friend: beautiful companion offering excellent security. Candy is currently practising for the soccer world cup to be held here in 2010.

Safari nursery: a refreshing experience

Upon entering this huge nursery one is immediately struck by this amazing display of rock, water and plants, which sort of sums of what's available at this location

A stunning display of rock and moss, such great texture contrasts

Just around the corner from the restaurant stands this beautiful elephant statue.

A refreshing greenery-laiden pathway towards the exit.

And the architectural tour continues...

Construction started in 2007 on this huge construction, by Hatfield standards.
It comprises accommodation for students and a mall.
The architectural style is fairly distinctive and fresh.

Above, a few shots of the boardwalk in Pretoria East. A pleasant spot for sundowners, overlooking the man-made lake. This area was previously a farm and the lake served farming purposes.

Architecture variations...

Today I took a leisurely drive and snapped up some interesting architecture range. I would love for someone to provide some architecture feedback on these pictures.

10km away, Safari Nursery mega-nursery is situated. The most stunning environment to purchase plants and related items in!



At the same nursery, some very interesting 'rondawels' as they are known locally.



In Hatfield, the local student village for the University of
Pretoria and UNISA, a modern church building is being constructed,
symbolic of the renewed interest in religion they would probably like to
promote amongst students.

re in Africa.
